Erin Johnston is a science illustrator and visual artist currently residing in St. Louis, Missouri. She holds a bachelors degree in Wildlife Biology from The Evergreen State College, a post baccalaureate in Studio Art from Eastern Washington University, and a Masters in Visual Arts from The Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at. With extensive experience in biological field research and art practices, she combines knowledge of both realms to produce aesthetic work with scientific accuracy. Her work has been published in the field guide, Búhos de Colombia, and the Neotropical Birding and Conservation’s annual journal, Cotinga. She has designed and fabricated murals in Washington, including the interior of the City Council Chambers in Spokane’s City Hall. Erin accepts requests for private and public commissions from both publishing biologists and lovers of science illustration.
